Annie Hsu - Acupuncturist
Happy you’re here!
Hi! I'm Annie. I was born in Taipei and grew up in Texas with summers spent back in Taiwan, learning and experiencing my ancestral culture and language. Even in America, I was constantly pulled back to the nourishing remedies of Chinese Medicine throughout my childhood.
I've always had an interest in natural medicine, and after graduating from Health Careers High School, I received my Bachelor of Science and Arts in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin. After moving around the states, I eventually landed in Portland for one of the country's best acupuncture schools, Oregon College of Oriental Medicine. I graduated from the accelerated track with my Master’s in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and immediately began to TA many foundational classes.
During an immensely educational and influential internship at the Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center's Pain Management Clinic, I realized a special interest in orthopedic and musculoskeletal acupuncture, and have been honing those skills in high-volume clinics since graduating.
I've also expanded an practice in facial rejuvenation and cosmetic acupuncture, further developing those skills with a series of classes with Michelle Gellis, L.Ac., renowned Facial Acupuncturist. Now with 700+ individual treatments under my belt since getting licensed, I am excited to see patients in my own space!
My priority as a practitioner is to put patients at ease while providing the most effective treatments possible.
I value your time and monetary commitments, and strive to understand the root cause of your issue so that we can treat the underlying problems as well as the symptoms, and get you back to enjoying life as soon as possible. I will happily work with you at whatever comfort level you are at with acupuncture, facial work, body work, and/or herbal remedies, ensuring that you always get the right level of care. If a treatment allows for it, I love utilizing many of our effective and side effects-free modalities including cupping, electro-stimulation, vibrational therapy, guasha, and other forms body work in conjunction with acupuncture.
When not practicing or studying Chinese Medicine, you can find me exploring as much as possible that the PNW has to offer - from mushroom foraging to snowboarding, to spending as much time as possible outside with my husband and two fur babies, Cash and Rupert.
I am fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese, and am trauma-informed. I’m honored to serve the SE Portland community and to work with patients of all backgrounds
